Chipping Norton is a handsome market town, and civil parish in the Cotswolds, West Oxfordshire. The Rollright Stones, a stone circle 2.5 miles north of Chipping Norton, and is evidence of prehistoric habitation in the area. In the middle ages wool made the Cotswolds one of the wealthiest part of England. Many medieval buildings built in the town as a result of that trade. These buildings then became the centre of town and remain so. Chipping Norton is a fantastic place to stay if you want to explore the outstanding natural beauty of the Cotswolds. Chipping Norton sits on one of the highest points of the Northern Cotswolds and a popular base for walks into the surrounding countryside.
